We handle the apostille process for documents from any U.S. state — by mail.
Full-service mail-in apostille for documents issued in any U.S. state. We verify the documents, prepare the state submission (cover sheets, payment, certified mail), obtain the apostille from the Secretary of State, and ship the apostilled documents back to the destination country. California does not charge for the apostille itself; other states charge between $5 and $25 per document, billed at cost. Certified translation, if requested, is quoted separately.
How this service runs
Mail-in apostille, any U.S. state: 1. Book the apostille service online and pay the $150 full fee. 2. We email you a service agreement and the California Secretary of State submission cover sheet (or the equivalent for your issuing state). 3. Mail your original document(s) to our Sacramento office via USPS Priority or tracked carrier. Include a prepaid return envelope (USPS Priority or UPS) addressed to the destination country. 4. We verify the documents, obtain the apostille from the issuing state, and ship them back via your prepaid envelope. Turnaround is typically 5–10 business days for California documents plus transit. California SOS does not charge for the apostille itself; other states charge between $5 and $25 per document. Certified translation, if requested, is billed separately.

Which states do you handle?
All 50 U.S. states plus the District of Columbia. We file with the Secretary of State in the issuing state; we do not currently handle U.S. Department of State federal apostilles.
How long does it take?
California documents typically clear the SOS in 5–10 business days plus transit. Out-of-state filings vary; most states process within 10–15 business days.
Do I need to mail you the original document?
Yes. Mail the original document(s) to our Sacramento office via USPS Priority or a tracked carrier. California state law requires the original for apostille; certified copies from the issuing county are also accepted for vital records.
