Live Scan Fingerprinting — we come to you
What should I bring?
A valid government-issued photo ID (driver license, state ID, passport) and your completed Request for Live Scan form with the ORI number and applicant type filled in. The requesting agency provides the form; without it we cannot submit.
Are DOJ and FBI fees included in your price?
No. Our $85 covers travel, setup and rolling your prints. DOJ charges $32 per submission and the FBI charges $17 when an FBI channel is required — both are paid to the agency at the time of service.
How long until results post?
Most Live Scan submissions clear DOJ within 24–72 hours and post to the requesting agency automatically. FBI channel submissions that need a federal criminal history check take 3–7 business days.
Live Scan Fingerprinting — at our office
Do you accept walk-ins?
By appointment only — book a slot above. Same-day appointments are usually available if you call ahead.
Where is the office?
Our Sacramento office address is shown on your booking confirmation. Free parking is available on site.
Are DOJ and FBI fees included?
No. The $45 covers rolling and submission only. DOJ charges $32 and the FBI charges $17 when a federal check is required — both are paid to the agency at the time of service.
FD-258 Ink Fingerprint Cards
When is ink-and-roll required instead of Live Scan?
Some states, federal agencies and out-of-country background check providers only accept the paper FD-258 card. If your Request for Live Scan form is not available or the agency explicitly says "card only," book this service.
Do you provide the cards?
Yes. Blank FD-258 cards are included in the price. If you have pre-printed cards from an agency with specific ORI blocks filled in, bring them and we will roll onto those.
How long does the ink need to dry?
Cards dry in about 5 minutes under our rolling setup. We hand them to you in a protective sleeve; do not laminate or seal them in plastic before the agency processes them.
Mobile Notary
Do signers need to bring ID?
Yes. Each signer must bring a valid government-issued photo ID (driver license, passport, state ID) so we can verify identity before notarizing.
Do you charge per signature on top of the booking fee?
California law sets a $15 per-signature statutory notary fee. We collect that in addition to our travel service fee at the appointment and provide a receipt.
Can you notarize a document that is not yet signed?
No. California notaries must witness the signature or the signer must acknowledge their signature in our presence. Bring the document unsigned; we will walk you through the signing.
Loan Signing (Notary Signing Agent)
Do you print and deliver the documents?
No. The title company prints the loan package and ships it to the borrower's address or sends the borrower the package directly. We only handle the signing and the return shipment.
How do you return the package?
FedEx Priority Overnight by default. The borrower pays the return shipping label (provided by the title company) on site or we add the cost to the invoice.
Are you on a lender or title approved list?
Ask us — we can provide our notary commission details, W-9 and any certifications the title or escrow company requires ahead of the signing. [OWNER: state your NNA/background-screen status here.]
Apostille / Authentication (mail-in, any state)
Which states do you handle?
All 50 U.S. states plus the District of Columbia. We file with the Secretary of State in the issuing state; we do not currently handle U.S. Department of State federal apostilles.
How long does it take?
California documents typically clear the SOS in 5–10 business days plus transit. Out-of-state filings vary; most states process within 10–15 business days.
Do I need to mail you the original document?
Yes. Mail the original document(s) to our Sacramento office via USPS Priority or a tracked carrier. California state law requires the original for apostille; certified copies from the issuing county are also accepted for vital records.
Free 15-minute apostille consultation (phone)
What is the difference between an apostille and notarization?
A notarization verifies your identity and signature for use in the U.S. An apostille is an international certification from a state or federal authority that makes a U.S. document valid in a country that is part of the Hague Convention. Most apostilled documents also need to be notarized first.
How do I know if my destination country requires an apostille?
If the destination is a Hague Convention country, you need an apostille. If it is not, you typically need a different authentication process through the U.S. Department of State. We can walk through this on the call.
Can I send you my documents now and ask questions later?
Please book the full apostille service instead — sending documents before we have confirmed the apostille is the right path can lead to extra fees if we need to file with a different state or authority.
On-site group fingerprinting (employers, schools, agencies)
Do you travel outside Sacramento for events?
Yes — Bay Area, Central Valley and Lake Tahoe are common destinations. Travel beyond the standard service area is quoted at cost (mileage + drive time).
How far in advance do we need to book?
Two weeks is typical, but we have run same-week events when the schedule allows. Submit your preferred dates and we will confirm availability within one business day.
Do you provide the Live Scan request forms?
No. The requesting agency provides the Request for Live Scan form with the ORI code and applicant type filled in. Each applicant brings their own completed form on the day of the event.
